Online discussion of the book will take place via the Shared Read Facebook group from March 2 – April 14, 2022. By joining the Shared Read Facebook group, participants will be able to respond to questions and polls, and post their own questions, etc.
The Austin NDWC group will meet in person in late April at a local coffeehouse or restaurant to discuss the book and share fellowship. The date, time and specific location is still TBD, but please let us know if you are interested in meeting with us by emailing [email protected]
About the Book: Patchett’s newest book is a series of essays on home, family, friendship, and writing that was called “a beautiful reminder of what’s important” in a recent review. From relationships with her three fathers to her efforts to take inventory of what she needs and what she doesn’t, Patchett explores universal experiences and encourages readers to reexamine their lives through a new lens.
About the Author: Ann Patchett is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, and her work has been translated into more than thirty languages. In November, 2011, she opened Parnassus Books in Nashville, Tennessee with her business partner. She has since become a spokesperson for independent booksellers, championing books and bookstores on NPR, The Colbert Report, Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, among many others. Ann Patchett lives in Nashville with her husband, Karl VanDevender, and their dog, Sparky.
