More Info from CTFB
Summer will be here before we know it and hunger doesn’t take a summer break. In fact, summer can be especially hard on families as children lose access to school meals while childcare costs and household bills increase. In response to the increased need in the community, every summer the Food Bank calls for increased volunteer support in its kitchen.
We’re looking for help from community members like you to volunteer in our Community Kitchen to help us make summer meals. Kitchen volunteering is not just about chopping veggies or making sandwiches. You’ll get to hone your culinary and organizational skills, working with other volunteers to produce summer meals for program sites across Central Texas. Your workspace will be the CTFB 4,200-square-foot commercial facility, outfitted with large-scale production equipment used to make meals for children and families in need.
