The Notre Dame Club of Austin is thrilled and honored to once again host the Universal Notre Dame Celebration on Wednesday, 20 July 2022 at 6.30p at the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Redbud Center in Austin. This year’s event will feature Kevin Corrigan, the Baumer Family Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, as our guest speaker.
The Universal Notre Dame (UND) Celebration program began as a radio broadcast in 1924, and has been bringing the Notre Dame campus to local communities for nearly 100 years. It provides an opportunity to hear from distinguished administrators, faculty and staff from the University and to connect as a community in celebration of the unique character of Notre Dame.
A brief video history of UND Celebrations can be found here.
The theme for this year’s UND Celebration is:
Golden is Thy Fame:
Celebrating 50 Years of Undergraduate Women
This topic will explore how women have shaped the University since its early days and how the undergraduate experience has evolved from 1972 to today, and will also spotlight the perspectives of alumnae from each generation. This is an opportunity for all alumni, parents and friends to discuss and reflect on how this seminal event decades ago at Notre Dame has better positioned its graduates as Forces for Good. More information about the impact of women on Our Lady’s University can be found here.
The LCRA Redbud Center is located at 3601 Lake Austin Boulevard in Austin, west of Austin’s Central Business District and of the MoPac Expressway. The Club will be providing snacks/appetizers, and, to ensure an adequate amount, we ask that you please RSVP here.
