Each year Notre Dame celebrates the Hesburgh Month of Service with a variety of projects to Honor Fr. Theodore Hesburgh. The ND Club of Austin is again coordinating a special volunteer opportunity with SafePlace on Saturday, May 12 from 9am-2pm. Last year we had 16 volunteers and we hope to top that number with this year’s event.
SafePlace exists to end sexual and domestic violence through safety, healing, prevention and social change. The organization provides safety for individuals and families affected by sexual and domestic violence and promotes safe and healthy relationships for the prevention of sexual and domestic violence.
This year we will prepare the rooms/classrooms in the Child Development Center for painting. We will also accept donations of pantry and other items for their facility.
Please RSVP by Wednesday May 9th so our event coordinator Nancy Carrales can coordinate with our host organization and email you the volunteer release forms and directions to the facility.
