The Austin Chapter of Emory Alumni has invited the Notre Dame Club of Austin to participate in their annual Emory Cares volunteer event at Community First! Village!

Project DescriptionJoin us at Community First! Village for Emory Cares. We will meet at the front office of Unity Hall to check in. The morning could entail laying pathways, harvesting gardens, tending the chicken coop, dry landscaping yards of micro-homes, etc. Please come wearing the proper clothing to ensure a safe day at work and wear long pants, a short-sleeve shirt, close-toed shoes (boots recommended) and a hat, bug spray and/or sunscreen for the outdoors are recommended. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own pair of work/gardening gloves.
Steps To Register
3. (Optional) Community First! Village suggests a $10 per person contribution toward dignified income of the residents leading our group. If you choose, you can submit that online. In the group name field, write Emory Alumni Group Serve 11/9/19.

Suggested Attire: Comfortable work clothes – long pants, close-toed shoes, hat, bug spray, sunscreen
Age Requirements: Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian while serving at the village.

Village (featured in The Washington Post and CityLab) is a 51-acre master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. This transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
