RECAP: Another Win for ND this past Saturday!
The Irish had a winning team on Saturday, October 18th as a small group of energetic club members helped clean Lady Bird Lake by participating in the Keep Austin Beautiful waterway cleanup. Our volunteers pulled cans, bottles, styrofoam, tennis balls, and other various items from the river. “I find it both fun and challenging to see if I can steer the kayak into a specific area to get the things left behind people or washed downstream after a storm,” said one volunteer. Some of the unique items retrieved this month included a bat, a partially used 5-gallon drum of hydraulic fluid and a 12-foot segment of carpeting.
