Location : St. Ignatius Martyr Parish, 126 West Oltorf Street, Austin, TX 78704

On the first Sunday of every month, mass – dorm style – will be held at St. Ignatius by Father Bill Wack.  Please join us. See below for more information and the description of the initial mass.

Colleen Dawes has generously offered to help start what we hope will be an ongoing tradition for the Club here in Austin.

One campus tradition many miss is dorm mass. Each dorm had a signature event, cherished by the residents of individual residence halls, that gave each dorm its own story–from BP’s Sundaes on Sunday to Dillon’s Milkshake Mass, and from Badin’s Pancake Tuesday to St. Edwards Spanish Mass…to name just a few. These Masses served as a time for faith, fellowship, and community where both Catholic and non-Catholic students would pray together and then gather together after for snacks. It was a great way to end the week together.

We’d like to re-create this unique experience of dorm mass here in Austin and start our own monthly tradition of mass and fellowship together at St. Ignatius Martyr, a Holy Cross parish in Austin. The Sunday night Lifeteen Mass in the main church at St. Ignatius is inviting and casual and Fr. Bill Wack, the pastor, is always friendly and has great homilies. The church office was so kind as to reserve a room for us in the Fr. Payne house (at the end of the church parking lot–campus map attached) where we can gather for food and drink after mass. We hope to make this a new tradition in Austin with the ND Club – ‘dorm’ mass together on the first Sunday of each month.

So come join us for ND Austin Dorm Mass at 5pm on the first Sunday of every month at St. Ignatius Martyr! All are welcome!

Parking is available in church parking lot and across Oltorf in the HEB lot.
